Our digital conference on timely topics

Watch these films for presentations and discussions on current topics for the railway sector.

Substituting our traditional annual conference in a time of covid-19, we produced these films for insight into our activities for 2021, security and safety, risk assessments, and market surveillance.

Introduction

In this film, Director General Erik Ø. Reiersøl-Johnsen and host Eirik Norman Hansen outline the themes of the other films presented here. In addition, Minister of Transport Knut Arild Hareide gives his greetings to the railway sector in a time affected by the pandemic.

Activity in 2021

In this film, Director General Erik Ø. Reiersøl-Johnsen and host Eirik Norman Hansen talk about covid-19, our activities for 2021, security and safety, risk assessments, and market surveillance.

Security and safety

In this film, our experts Thomas Haneborg and Trond Østerås talk to host Eirik Norman Hansen about similarities and differences between the disciplines of safety and security. Monica Endregard at the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment gives recommendations to the railway sector on how to systemize their work with safety and security.

Risk Assessments

In this film, the introductory question from host Eirik Norman Hansen is what risk railway companies, The Norwegian Railway Authority and society in general are willing to accept. Major topics such as risk assessments, risk management and risk acceptance criteria are discussed in a conversation between our experts Geir-Rune Samstad and Trond Østerås, with sector input from Lars Fredrik Andersen, formerly of CargoNet AS.

Market surveillance

In this film, host Eirik Norman Hansen sheds light on our role as market monitor. He is joined by our experts Kemal Zulovic and Toril Elsa Torp. They talk about market access on equal terms, the role as an appeal body and what the essential conditions are for achieving healthy competition. Professor of Economics Christian Riis gives a lecture on competition in various sectors, with special emphasis on the railway sector.
